Walkers and Cyclists

Hadrian’s Wall is a comfortable two and a half miles walk from Simonburn.
The National Byway Loop Cycle Route that uses Hexham as its base, is a 23 mile round trip easily achievable in one day and includes Simonburn in its sign-posted route.

By Rail / Bus

Hexham is the nearest rail link located on the main Newcastle to Carlisle line.

Simonburn is a twenty minutes taxi ride or there is a regular bus service that runs between Hexham and Bellingham.  The bus stop is at Nunwick and it is a five minute walk to the village of Simonburn.

International Visitors

Newcastle International Airport is a forty minute drive from Simonburn – car hire is available at the Airport.

It is also possible to take a short ride by Metro train from the Airport to Newcastle Central Station where you can change to a train for Hexham and then taxi or bus.
